Avram Shapiro

My acrylic technique, honed for over four decades, utilizes an underlay of color (often metallics) and overlays applied with palette knife and hardened brush to create textured images which I call "false impressionism" for their suggestions of detail. For the last several years, I have used this technique in unique miniature works with great success. Self taught plus an associate's degree in fine art from Brookdale C.C, I am a member of the Freehold Art Society since 1975 and the Crestwood Artists Guild, along with two other groups since moving to Whiting. My works can be found on my Facebook page in Photos-Albums under Avram B. Shapiro. My specialty is color.
